Equality

FAU has been taking a proactive and sustainable approach to promoting equality of women and men for over two decades now. In order to ensure comprehensive gender equality, FAU’s focus on the promotion of women has gradually been shifted towards a gender mainstreaming approach. The various starting points, circumstances and interests of women and men alike should be considered from the outset in all decisions, measures and projects implemented by FAU. The aim at all times is to ensure that the entire range of studies, career and professional opportunities are open to women and men alike, for example counteracting a gender-specific choice of subjects by discouraging gender stereotypes.
